Özgür Sevgi Göral
- Founder, Center for Truth, Justice and Memory
Born in Bursa in 1977, she graduated from Saint Joseph High School and received her bachelor's degree at the Istanbul University Faculty of Law. She received her master's degree from Bosporus University Ataturk Institute for Modern Turkey History with a thesis on juvenile delinquency and penitentiaries in the early Republican era. Currently, she is working on her doctoral thesis on forced migration and its effects on Istanbul's urban transformation to be presented to the Etudes en Sciences Sociales. She is also a member of the Istanbul Bar Association since 2009 and gives lectures in Istanbul Technical University, Yildiz Technical University, Sabanci University, Bosporus University.
She is the founder and works as program director of Hafiza Merkezi (Center for Truth, Justice and Memory). She is also the adviser of the Peace and Democracy Party in the parliamentary commission for the new constitution.
