We thank you for your presence here this evening, for it affirms our government’s commitment to religious liberty and human rights for all people.

By way of a response, it is my pleasure to introduce someone who really needs no introduction – one of the world’s leading scholars on the New Testament, the author of many books and academic articles, the holder of two earned PhDs, our beloved Archbishop in America for some 18 years and who is celebrating his 50th anniversary as a bishop of our beloved Greek Orthodox Church.
