President, Ecumenical Patriarchate Archons in Canada, Order of St. Paul the Apostle
Archon Perentes is the President of the Ecumenical Patriarchate Archons in Canada, Order of St. Paul the Apostle. He has been an active member of St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Community of Regina for over 50 years. As a teenager later sang in the church choir and studied Byzantine Music. He currently serves as assistant chanter at St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church (2017 – present). He has served on the Community Council from 1991 -1996; 1999-2008; 2011-2022. During that time, he served as President from 2003-2008 and 2011-2020 and Treasurer from 1995-1996, 2002, and 2021-2022.
He has been involved in volunteer activities for various Church and Community events including dancing and volunteering at the annual MOSAIC Cultural Festival and later serving on the organizing committee for this event including Pavilion Manager in 1999.
He has served on the Organizing Committee of An Evening in Greece Benefit Gala (2001 – 2020) which has raised over $2.9 million for the Hospitals of Regina Foundation, Regina Palliative Care Inc., Friends of Renal Dialysis, and other local charities since 1994. Chris also chaired the St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church of Regina 50th Anniversary Committee (2011).
Nationally, he has served as member of the Metropolis Council of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Toronto from 2002 – 2013 and a member of the Archdiocesan Council of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Canada from 2017 – 2024.
Archon Perentes was invested as an Archon on June 29, 2015 (The Feast Day of Saint Paul, the patron saint of the Ecumenical Patriarchate Archons in Canada) and conferred with the offikion Aktuarios. He was elected President of the Ecumenical Patriarchate Archons in Canada, Order of Saint Paul the Apostle in 2019 and continues to serve in that capacity.
He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSP), 1990. He is currently the owner and manager of two retail pharmacies in Regina, (1992 – Present). From 1999 – 2023 he also co-owned and operated two other pharmacies in the city. He is a member of the Saskatchewan College of Pharmacists (1990 – Present); the Canadian Pharmacists Association (1990 – Present); and the Pharmacists Association of Saskatchewan (1998 – Present). He served as a member of the Saskatchewan Pharmaceutical Association Economics (Negotiating) Committee from 1996 – 2004. He was a Clinical investigator for “Study of Cardiac Risk Intervention by Pharmacists” (1999). He received the Saskatchewan Pharmaceutical Association’s “Presidential Citation Award” (1999 and 2006). Has served as Clinical Preceptor for 4th Year Pharmacy Students in the Specialty of Long-Term Care and Provision of Methadone Services. (2000 – 2019)
Archon Perentes was born in Regina, SK, Canada and is married to Vivian Vasiliki Efthimiou. Together they have three adult daughters.
